Whitewashed Hysteric is the latest piece by ~Love-and-mascara... the attention to detail in every aspect of the piece and polished skill set a new high point to this gallery. A strong overall chill, enhanced by well-chosen color accents and a distant elegance of subject and its complementing frame.

Oils on gessoed mirror.
This was honestly the first thing I've ever wet-mixed on or built up a semblance of impasto texture to. I wet-mixed the base and a lot of the jacket/facial texture, the background, hand and hair, then ended up using some glaze and scumble with the blood, eyes, ring, and pearls. Was actually toying with naming it "Bad Wolf" (hint: jacket and gore), but I didn't want people referencing Doctor Who at me. Might add blood detail to the thrift-find frame later (that sucker broke on me about 5 times). It was painted to coordinate with the piece.
I may try for a better shot later because the perspective of the photo (to avoid the glare) is a little tilted, making the head look a little disproportionate.
